1. Lesson Fees & Duration:
- Class 5/7: $75 per hour
- Vehicle rental for road test: $100 per session
- Each driving lesson is a minimum of 1 hour, which includes at least 45 minutes of practical driving and up to 15 minutes of theory.
- Each road test session is a minimum of 2 hours, including a 60-minute warm up.
2. Valid Driver’s Licence
- All students must present a valid BC Learner’s or Driver’s Licence, or a valid foreign Driver’s Licence, before the first lesson.
- Students are required to carry their licence at all times during training.
3. Booking & Payment:
- Lessons must be booked and paid in advance to reserve a time slot.
- Booking is accepted online, by phone, or via email.
- Payment methods: cash, E-transfer, and online through website.
- Prices do not include 5% GST.
4. Cancellations, Rescheduling & Refunds
- Single Lessons:
- 48-hour notice is required to cancel or reschedule; otherwise, a $50 fee applies.
- Cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice will void the lesson.
- No-shows or late arrivals (over 15 minutes) will void the lesson.
- No refunds are provided for completed lessons.
2. Packages:
- Cancelling a bundle after the first lesson will deduct the cost of lessons taken, including any lessons within 48 hours of cancellation, plus a $50 processing fee. The remainder will be refunded.
- No refunds for lessons or road tests already completed.
5. Road Tests:
- Students can book their own road test with ICBC, and also SmartWheel Drive can make reservations on their behalf.
- Pickup service is included with all road test sessions.
- We reserve the right to refuse vehicle rental if a student is not ready for the road test.
- Missing a road test without 48-hour notice or a satisfactory reason may result in a $25 ICBC fee, in addition to future road test fees.
- SmartWheel Drive reserves the right to cancel appointments due to policy violations with no refunds.
- Passing the road test is not guaranteed.
6. Passengers:
- Maximum of 3 people (1 observer) in the vehicle during lessons.
- Additional passengers require a $40 surcharge per lesson.
7. Vehicle Responsibilities:
- Students are responsible for 50% of repair costs for damages to company vehicles (excluding ICBC-covered accidents).
- Examples of damage include rims, tires, bumpers, doors, and paint scratches.
8. Bundle Expiration:
- Bundles and individual lessons expire 8 months after purchase.
- Unused lessons after expiration are void.
9. Student Conduct:
- Aggressive behaviour or threats toward staff will not be tolerated.
- Students under the influence of alcohol, recreational substances, or sedating medications will not be allowed to take lessons; such lessons will be void.
